Udupi: ACB raids minor irrigation dept AE’s residence; 21 govt officials raided in Bengaluru

Udupi: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Friday conducted surprise checks at the residence of the assistant engineer (AE) working in the minor irrigation department.
According to sources, the checks were conducted after a series of complaints were received against assistant engineer Harish.
The team led by DySP Manjunatha Kavari raided Harish’s Korangrapady house and found over 2 kg of gold, Rs 5 lakh cash, high-end watches, three vehicles and other golden ornaments.
Meanwhile, Karnataka ACB raids 80 locations against 21 government officials in Bengaluru over disproportionate assets cases.
ACB team of 300 officers and staff are raiding office buildings and residences of government servants who allegedly held excess income and assets.
The officials who are being raided include Bheema Rao Y Pawar, Superintendent of Engineer from Belagavi, Assistant Engineer Harish from Udupi, Hassan city’s minor irrigation AEE Ramakrishna HV, Karwar PWD Assistant Engineer Rajiv Purasaiah Nayak, Ponnampet Zilla panchayat’s Junior Engineer BR Bopaiah, Belgaum District Registrar Madhusudhan, Bagalkote RTO Yellappa N Padasal.
