Udupi bandh on Oct 3 amidst building material transport truck strike

The Union of District Building Material Lorry Tempo Owners Association, embroiled in an ongoing indefinite strike due to permit-related issues, has declared a bandh in Udupi District on October 3.
Despite a meeting involving District Collector Dr. Vidyakumari, District SP Dr. Arun K, and five MLAs, the discussions failed to yield a resolution. Consequently, leaders representing the union’s 12 zones convened a meeting on Friday, during which they decided to call for the district-wide bandh.
Union representative Raghavendra Shetty stated that he intends to meet with the District Collector and SP on Saturday to formally submit their request regarding the impending bandh.
The looming bandh in Udupi District reflects the ongoing impasse between the building material lorry and tempo owners and the local authorities, with potential implications for businesses and residents in the area.
