Udupi: A dog named ‘Julie’ passed away on Sunday, August 14, after suffering from age-related ailments.
For the past 16 years, the dog had made Chittaranjan Circle its home.
As it was suffering from age-related ailments, social activist and convenor of Nagarika Samithi Nityananda Volakadu contacted veterinary doctor Dr. Dayanand Pai for its treatment.
However the dog was unresponsive to the treatment, and it died on Sunday.
Following its demise, members of the Nagarika Samithi offered a floral tribute and handed over the mortal remains to the Civil Municipal Corporation for burial.
Locals expressed their grief over Julie’s death.
Notably, Julie was renamed ‘Charlie’, after the release of the Kannada comedy-drama “777 Charlie”.
