Udupi: The Geminid meteor shower will be visible on the night sky here on December 13 and 14.

The meteor shower would start by about 8:30 pm, however, the best time to watch them will from 1pm to 4pm.

As the meteor shower is visible on the same day when the Gemini constellation becomes visible it was named the Geminid.

The meteor shower originates from the 3200 Phaethon asteroid. The remnants of this asteroid are so many that approximately 120 meteorites can be viewed passing in the sky in one hour.

The meteor shower will be visible to the naked eye every thirty seconds.
