A man has been arrested for allegedly abusing and threatening railway police personnel on duty at Udupi railway station.

The accused has been identified as Sameer Biwaje Shindu. He was taken into custody after he created a ruckus in the general coach of the Lokmanya Tilak express train.

It is said that Zeena Pinto, a constable of Konkan railway, was on duty at the station when she received a call about the disturbance in the coach. She immediately went to investigate along with her colleague, constable Srikant. Upon arriving at the compartment, they found Sameer being held by the public and the train ticket examiner (TTE).

However, Sameer reportedly tore up the memo given by the TTE and began abusing Zeena and Srikant. He also allegedly threatened the inspector when he was taken to the railway office at the station.

Following the incident, Sameer was immediately taken into custody, and a case has been filed against him at Manipal police station.
