Udupi: Police officials honoured with cash prizes for solving Vishala Ganiga murder case

Udupi:  Police officials who were part of the investigation of the Vishala Ganiga murder case were honoured with cash prizes on September 23.

The sensational murder case of Vishala Ganiga which took place in a private apartment in Uppinakote on Monday, July 12 was reported under the limits of Brahmavar police station.

A team was formed under the leadership of the superintendent of police (SP) Vishnuvardhan. Police officials were successful in arresting the first accused Swaminathan Nishad in Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh.

It then came to light that Ramakrishna Ganiga, Vishala’s husband had ordered his wife’s murder.

DG and IGP of Karnataka Praveen Sood had announced a cash prize of Rs 50,000 for the team and IGP western range Devajyoti Ray visited the office of the district police, gave a cash prize and congratulated the team.
