Udupi: With Karnataka SSLC and PUC examinations right around the corner, preparations are in full swing in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.

Udupi district has begun an innovative experiment by conducting a syllabus-based quiz in the class once a week. Each week, the subject teachers create quizzes based on the syllabus and ask the students to participate in order to help them remember the topic for the exam.

Door-to-door visit

Every year, the school teachers and the Principal would visit the students’ houses. As a continuation of this practice, education department authorities such as BEO, CRP, BRP, and DDPI will also visit students’ houses this year. In addition to providing exam information to students, the authorities will also guide the parents and guardians.

Special classes

There are intervening holidays between exams. The students will be called to the school during those days, and the subject teachers will review the syllabus with the goal of ensuring that the students make the most of these breaks. The school will also arrange for lunch for the students.

Mother’s meeting

A special meeting of students’ mothers is held at the end of the month to provide detailed information about the children’s education, how the students should study for exams, and how the family can help them.

Mock examination

Prior to the annual examination, there will be district and state-level preparatory exams. Meanwhile, the department is planning to conduct a mock exam in the district. It follows the same format as the annual test and is intended to help students overcome their exam fear.

K. Ganapathi, Sudhakar, DDPI, Udupi and DK said, “In terms of the SSLC exam, we are continuing the last year’s successful initiatives while also launching a few fresh ideas this year. The initiatives include special classes, syllabus revision etc.”
