Udupi: Shankarpura Jasmine selling at Rs 1000

Udupi: Due to increased demand after the beginning of the month of Shravan, the prices of the Shankarpura Jasmine have crossed Rs 1,000.
On Saturday, August 29, the flower, used in many rituals, was selling at Rs 1,050 for an ‘atte.’
During the lockdown, the prices of the flower had reached as low as Rs 40 and raised to Rs 850 by the end of July. It fell again after Independence Day to Rs 550 and was selling at Rs 950 till August 28.
