Ullal: A fisherman who fell into the sea from a fishing boat was rescued by a group of fishermen on Saturday.
Nawaz (35), a resident of Bengre, was the rescued fisherman.
Fishermen Prem Prakash D’souza, Anil Montero, Surya Prakash D’Souza, Ritesh and Ajeeth were the ones who rescued Nawaz.
On Saturday morning, the sea was on surge causing many boats to remain anchored.
But Nawaz’s boat went out to sea. While returning, a heavy wind hit the boat when it was between some stones. As a result, Nawaz fell into the sea.
However, the boat could not be stopped due to the strong waves. A thermocol was thrown to Nawaz to hold on to temporarily. With its help, he was saved from drowning in the sea.
The owner of Nawaz’s boat soon sent messages to other boats that Nawaz had fallen into the sea.
Another group of returning fishermen, after searching for about ten minutes, found Nawaz. They threw a rope and managed to rescue him.
