Bengaluru: Senior actress B Jayamma’s family has clarified over a video showing her dead body being kept by the roadside.

The daughter of Jayaamma’s brother has said, “No other member of her family could come to the funeral due to the lockdown. We were given the time from 11:30 am to 12 pm at the crematory and were not allowed to perform the last rites inside. So we did it outside at the side of the road. Some bystanders made a video of it and are sharing it slanderously on social media.”

In the video being shared on many social media platforms, the elderly actress’s dead body is seen kept on the roadside near a garbage heap.

Jayamma had starred in many Kannada movies and television serials and was unmarried.

Many Kannada filmmakers have expressed shock at her death.
