Vijayapur: Sub Inspector disguises as farmer to arrest marijuana growers

Vijayapur: A Sub Inspector at the Talikote police station here in the guise of a farmer arrested two marijuana growers and recovered 75 kilograms of marijuana from their possession on Saturday, September 19.

SI Shivaji Pawar went to the Chavanabhavi village in Muddebihal taluk at around 3:30 am on Saturday, after receiving a tip-off of marijuana being grown there.

He reached the village dresses as a farmer, apprehended the culprits and seized 75 kilograms of marijuana from them.

The arrested were identified as Bhimanna Turadagi and Keshappa Elligere.

Muddebihal’s tahsildar, GS Malaji, arrived at the site later to take stock of the situation.

SP Anupama Agarwal, DySP Shanthaveera praised the work of SI Shivaji Pawar.
