Vitla police solve house burglary case; one arrested

Vitla: The Vitla police have cracked a house burglary that took place in March and have arrested one accused in the case.

The accused has been identified as Muhammed K.U. (42) of Kuthuparamba in the Kannur district of Kerala.

The theft had occurred on the intervening night of March 9 and 10, at a house in Mittur in Idkidu village. The burglars decamped with 107 grams of gold worth Rs 4.28 Lakhs when the residents were asleep.

Police said the accused had sold the gold to a jewelry shop in Kasaragod. About 80.7 grams of gold worth Rs 3.71 lakh was seized from the shop.

Meanwhile, the accused was produced before the court which remanded him to judicial custody.
