Director General of Police (DGP), Praveen Sood has issued a clarification about the viral video of a cop – kicking a man in Belagavi which was widely shared on social media.
Taking to Twitter Praveen Sood shared a ‘fact-check’ report, which said that the video is from a movie shooting.

Meanwhile, Belagavi police also issued a clarification in this regard, which read, “The video shared on social media shows a police officer assaulting a person. This video is from the movie “HOYSALA”, shooting at Rani chennamma circle Belagavi city. The movie clip has been misinterpreted, and the police department is being portrayed negatively on social media.”

The police further requested the public not to share the video and spread fake information.
The clarification came after a video of a cop kicking a man in Belagavi was widely shared on social media led to netizens accusing cops of brutality and harassment.
