BYJU’S 39-year-old Founder BYJU Raveendran is India’s youngest billionaire with $3.05 billion wealth as per Forbes list of India’s 100 Richest People.
As reported by Times Now, He went from teaching a few friends, to teaching hundreds of students in large auditoriums, and taking classes through satellite communication. He then set up Think & Learn in 2011, to offer online lessons, before launching his main app in 2015. In 2018, Raveendran won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Startup category).
BYJU’s investors include Mark Zuckerberg and Tencent. Company’s flagship app, aimed at school children from grades one to 12, has registered a cumulative 42 million downloads.
Paytm’s 42-year-old Founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma is second-youngest billionaire with $2.35 billion wealth. He’s followed by Patanjali Ayurved’s 48-year-old Chairman Acharya Balkrishna with $2.22 billion wealth and 50-year-old realtor Vikas Oberoi.
