Who is Natalia Garibotto, the model whose photo got a like from Pope Francis’ Instagram account?

The Vatican is seeking an explanation from Instagram after Pope Francis’ official account liked a photo of a Brazilian bikini model, Natalia Garibotto

According to The Sun, The official Instagram account of the Pope, @franciscus, appeared to have liked Natalia’s photo of her dressed in a school girl outfit wearing minimal clothing on October 5.

The photo was captioned: “I can teach you a thing or two. Can’t wait for you guys to see my October shoot on my site.”

It is not clear if the post was quickly unliked by the official Pope’s account over the mistake or if the allegedly captured “like” is real.

The model said that she was flattered that the Pope’s instagram account saying: “My mum may hate my pics, but the Pope be double-tapping.” She then addressed her Twitter followers and joked about visiting the Vatican.

The Vatican has officially launched a probe to uncover who liked the model’s photo through the pope’s official account.

Garibotto is a 27-year-old model from Brazil and is famous on social media by the Instagram handle @natagata. She has over 2 million followers on Instagram and  has her own website, where she states that her fans can find “unreleased content, access to BTS clips, videos and more!”
