Mysuru: Sri Ram Sena supremo Pramod Muthalik has said that if the BJP doesn’t field him for the upcoming 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections, he will contest independently.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, he said, “I’ve chosen constituencies namely Jamakhandi, Terdal, Bagalkot, Dharwad City, Sringeri, and Karkala to contest the upcoming assembly elections. From this, I’ll choose one by the end of this month.”
“I’ve asked for seat share with BJP. About 25 seats have been requested, out of which five will be allotted to seers. If the BJP doesn’t issue tickets, we will contest as independent candidates. We are confident that even after contesting independently with the Hindutva agenda, we’ll emerge victorious. Like the SC/ST, women and graduate reservations, Hindus shall also be given quota.”
On questions regarding the Karnataka-Maharashtra border dispute, Muthalik said, “As the matter is subjudice, it will not be right on my part to comment on it.”
