Hubbali: Former state chief minister Jagadish Shettar wondered whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi will retire from active politics.

Speaking to reporters here Shettar said, “BJP leaders advised me to retire from politics. Will PM Modi who served as Chief Minister for four terms and twice as the Prime Minister leave politics?” He further questioned if four-time BJP MP and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi would quit politics.

“I believe that one should remain in politics till they continue to have people’s blessings,” he said.

Further, Shettar said that he got ministerial posts based on his seniority. “It appears that Joshi has learned to lie recently. I criticised BL Santhosh and Prahlad Joshi, not the entire Brahmin community,” he told reporters.

On the issue of reservation, Shettar said accused the state government of cheating people by making differing statements before the Supreme Court and the public.
