Woman burns her 12-day-old daughter to death

Bhatkal: A woman set her 12 day old daughter on fire and burnt her to death at Venkatapura on March 9. It is said that she was upset that her husband and mother did not come to see her baby.

The accused has been identified as Yashoda Gopal Moger. She set the baby on fire on March 9. Her brother immediately took the baby to Manipal hospital but the baby died on March 10.

Yashoda was married to Gopal Moger of Belni village for three years. Gopal is said to be missing from the past 3 months.

The Rural police registered a case and arrested the woman. She was produced before the judge, who remanded her in judicial custody.
