‘Would have fielded you in elections…’: PM to Kalaburagi woman

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had words of praise for a woman from Kalaburagi who explained about the Ayushman Bharat scheme during an online interaction on Tuesday.
Santoshi Ganapati, a resident of Kinni Sadak village in Kamalapur taluk was among those interacting with the Prime Minister about various central government schemes as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
Santoshi, though not a direct beneficiary spoke in Kannada about how the Ayushman Bharat scheme was beneficial to her mother who was suffering from diabetes and blood pressure. The woman detailed how the health workers visited their house for her mother’s treatment. She even thanked the PM for the health scheme which has benefitted the poor in securing treatment and setting up of health centre in her village.
Her speech was translated into Hindi by a helper. After listening to her, Modi said that if he was in Karnataka politics he would have fielded her in elections further adding that she would become a leader.
