Yashpal Suvarna, Udupi MLA and National General Secretary of BJP Backward Classes Morcha, emphasized the developmental achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government as crucial for the victory of Kota Srinivasa Poojary in the upcoming elections.

Suvarna expressed confidence that coastal Karnataka, traditionally a stronghold of the BJP, will reaffirm its support for the party by securing a significant victory margin for candidates like Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri in Uttara Kannada and Raghavendra in Shimoga.

Speaking at the Yuva Bharat Samavesha organized by Udupi Zilla Yuvamorcha, Suvarna highlighted the Modi government’s focus on comprehensive development across social, economic, and educational sectors since 2014. He pointed out initiatives such as the establishment of a separate ministry for strengthening the cooperative sector, significant investments in fisheries development under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampad Yojana, and encouragement of fishing activities through financial support.

Suvarna also commended the Modi government for its implementation of various projects including the construction of Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, revocation of Article 370 in Kashmir, Ayushman Bharat, Janaushadha Kendra, Kisan Samman Yojana, Vishwakarma Yojana for self-employment, Mudra Yojana, Make in India, and Digital India.

Meanwhile, Suvarna criticized the Congress government for its alleged failures, citing unfulfilled promises such as the establishment of the Narayan Guru Nigam and the Bunts Development Corporation. The government has reduced the grants of scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes by Rs 11,000 crores and 10,000 crore has been promised to the Muslim community.

He also raised concerns over the lack of grants for the development of temples and other religious institutions in coastal districts, attributing these shortcomings to what he described as the anti-Dalit and anti-Hindu policies of the Congress.

Suvarna further highlighted incidents like the Rameswaram cafe bomb blast and the killing of Neha Hiremath by an individual with alleged “Jihadi mentality” as part of Love Jihad, asserting that the people of the state are disillusioned with such occurrences and are prepared to deliver a strong message to the incumbent government in the upcoming elections.
