Youth arrested for showing porn to pedestrian girl

Mangaluru: A youth was detained for outraging the modesty of a woman in city on Wednesday, July 10. The accused is identified as Devin Pinto (29), a resident of Bendur.
Apparently, the accused stopped a girl walking on the road and made her watch a pornographic video on his mobile phone near Shivabagh, Kadri. After seeing the clip, the girl started crying and soon a crowd of people gathered at the spot.
Mangaluru city police later arrested Devin based on a complaint given by the girl and a case in this connection has been registered against the youth at the women’s police station.
According to the law, making others watch porn, displaying pornographic content in public, sending someone pornographic or obscene content is an offence and is punishable by law under the Sections 67 and 67A of the IT Act, 2000 as well as Section 292 of IPC.
