Youth detained for allegedly behaving in an indecent manner

Udupi: Chaos erupted at Delta beach on Wednesday when locals interrupted youths belonging to one community behaving in an indecent manner with girls from other communities.

It has been gathered that three boys belonging to one community and three girls belonging to different communities were celebrating birthday of a girl from the group at Kodi Bengre Delta Beach near here.

Locals claim that they were behaving in an indecent manner, questioned them and later called the Police.

When the Police arrived, a big group was gathered at the spot.

The locals insisted that the parents of the detained be called and informed on the incident.

However, Police dint give much heed to it and all the six were taken to the nearby Malpe Police Station.

Police have also deployed a KSRP squad at Hoode.

The parents of the youngsters were called and the latter were handed over to them. The crowd dispersed thereafter.
