Youth murders girlfriend; commits suicide

Moodbidri: A young man hacked his girl friend staying in a rented house near Pranthya here with her family on Friday, September 28^th.  The deceased girl has been identified as Charishma Poojary(20). She succumbed to the injuries in a Moodbidri private hospital later.

The murder was committed by Lohith, who after stabbing Charishma committed suicide.

Incident synopsis

On Friday, Charishma was alone at their rented home near Pranthya when her boyfriend Lohith who is related to her and staying in Bajal in Mangaluru had come there. Lohith stabbed the girl on the neck and hit on her head with a hammer. He later committed suicide in the house by hanging.

Charishma died in the hospital failing to respond died in the hospital failing to respond to the treatment. Apparently, the youth’s mother is a staff at Karkala panchayat.

Moodbidri police have investigating the case presently.
