New York : Actor Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac have finalised their divorce and settled their custody battle over three-year-old daughter, Rose. The 32-year-old actor filed for divorce from the French journalist in March this year after marrying in 2014, and have now reached an agreement on both the terms of their divorce, and the custody of their daughter.

According to New York Post’s Page Six column, the former couple submitted a sealed settlement to Manhattan Supreme Court on September 12, which detailed the terms of their separation. And in a joint statement after the document was delivered, Scarlett and Romain confirmed they would now be working on successfully co-parenting their tot.

The statement read, “We remain close friends and co- parents with a shared commitment to raising our daughter in a loving and compassionate environment.” Terms of the settlement and custody agreement are unknown as of the time of writing, but when the “Ghost In The Shell” actor filed for divorce, she asked for sole custody of Rose.

Romain, 35, later “implored” his former wife to try to re-negotiate the terms of her custody filing. He said in March, “I would implore her to withdraw her action promptly and go back, as uncomfortable as it might be, to the negotiating table. We are the parents of a lovely daughter whom we will continue to co-parent for many years and share her joys and sorrows as only a parent can.”

However, it is unlikely the terms of their agreement will ever be made public, as the “Lucy” star previously insisted she will not comment on her marriage, out of respect to her daughter. “As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage,” she had said.

“Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working moms, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same. Thank you.”
