Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa today accepted Ramesh Jarkiholi’s resignation as minister and forwarded the letter to the governor’s office.
Jarakiholi had tendered his resignation to the chief minister after the release of a sex video CD allegedly showing him.
“The accusations levelled at me are far from the truth. This case should be investigated soon. Although I am confident of being acquitted, I am resigning as a minister over moral grounds. Please accept my resignation,” Jarkiholi had reportedly said in the letter sent to the chief minister.
Jarkiholi’s resignation letter was delivered to the ‘Kaveri’ residence of the chief minister by his brother Balachandra Jarkiholi.
Meanwhile, it was reported that supporters of Ramesh Jarkiholi have called for a bandh in Gokak. They have closed shops in the town and started protests. Police have arrived to control the supporters.
