Woman murdered and chopped into pieces: Police crack case after 5 months, arrest 2

Krishnarajpet: The police here have arrested two culprits accused of murdering a woman by chopping her into 14 pieces.

The accused have been identified as Rangappa and Chandra. The bike on which they carried the dead body has been seized by the police.

The murder victim Asha (25), a resident of Deshavalli village of Pandavapur taluk, was married to N Rangappa (30), a resident of the same village. The couple had three children.

Rangappa suspected the character of his wife and along with his brother in law Chandra (37) murdered her, chopped her into pieces and threw them into the Hemavati river.

Asha’s father, Gowrishankar, lodged a complaint at the Pandavapur police station about the mysterious disappearance of his daughter. The dead body was later found in the river which Gowrishankar recognised as that of Asha’s after recognising the fish tattoo on her right thumb.
