Bengaluru: K Sudhakar, Health and Medical Education Minister appealed to the seers of various Mutts and the Sandalwood stars to regulate any large gatherings at least for one month as the state is currently breaching the 2000 mark of fresh COVID-19 cases in the second wave.

Informing that the state is reporting a positivity rate of more than 2%, Sudhakar appealed to all district administrations to not allow any religious fairs, entertainment events, large gatherings, or political rallies at least for the next month.

He further added that if we continue like this, it may go out of our hands and that we have to self-regulate these activities to prevent any adverse reactions at a later stage.

Sudhakar especially appealed to the seers of various Mutts, prominent religious leaders and Sandalwood celebrities. He requested all the heads of Mutts and other leaders to be role models for others by requesting people not to come for annual fairs.

Talking about how many film actors are going around the states promoting their films, Sudhakar requested them to wear masks and tell their fans as well to comply with COVID-19 rules of the government in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
