Mangaluru: City police commissioner N Shashi Kumar clarified that the two persons arrested in connection with the Koragajja hundi desecration case did not confess to doing the crime.

According to reports the duo had voluntarily confessed to the misdeeds after one of their acquaintance, who committed the crime died. They were later handed over to the police.

Clarifying on the same, N Shashi Kumar said that the duo had stated that they knew a friend involved in the hundi desecration and who died later.

Further, he said that the duo have not been absolved of charges but in view of lack of evidence to prove their involvement, they have been released from custody. Necessary action will be taken once some more evidence is collected, he added.
