Those with influence being prioritised for vaccination, alleges Udupi town council opp leader

Udupi: Opposition leader in the town council here, Ramesh Kanchan has alleged that influential people and their supporters are getting priority in the administration of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine.
Accusing MLA Raghupathi Bhat of absconding from his duties he further said that the people of the Udupi Assembly constituency are in distress and are hoping to be helped by him.
“COVID-19 hospitals are occupied and there is a lack of ventilators and ICU beds in the district,” he said.
“There are no vaccines in vaccination centres. Online registration for the vaccine is mismanaged as vaccine slots are booked even before they arrive while the Arogya Setu app shows that they are available,” Kanchan alleged.
“Overall, the vaccination system is a mess and you have a lot of responsibility to shoulder in this difficult time. Hence, you must return to your constituency,” he added.
