Covid-19 vaccine availability: Refrain from visiting hospitals without prior confirmation

Udupi: The vaccination drive for 18-44-year-olds, which began in Karnataka on May 1 has been suspended temporarily from May 14 following a directive from the state government. Now several hospitals in the Udupi district have requested people not to visit hospitals for vaccination without prior confirmation citing a shortage of vaccine doses.

Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, Dr. T M A Pai Hospital, Udupi and TMA Pai Rotary Hospital, Karkala urged people to confirm vaccine availabilty before arriving at the hospital.

The hospital authorities have stated that the vaccines are likely to be available after June 1 and that they are trying to buy vaccines directly from the company

They further said that the public will be soon informed regarding the availability of  vaccines
