Chikkamagaluru: An incident where villagers stopped a convoy of forest officials on their way to an excursion and made them return was reported from Santaveri in Tarikere taluk of the district.
A team of senior forest department officials were going to the “Game Forest” near Santaveri on Thursday in their official vehicles.
On seeing the convoy of vehicles with officials coming to the forest resort amidst the COVID-19 pandemic induced lockdown, the outraged villagers stopped them and engaged in arguments with them.
As the villagers did not back down and stood their ground the officials soon returned from the spot.
