Mysuru Municipal Comm resigns alleging harassement from DC Sindhuri

Mysuru: The Municipal Commissioner of the Mysuru City Corporation Shilpa Nag resigned on Thursday alleging harassment from the district’s Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri.

In a news conference organised in the city, she read out her resignation letter written to the State’s Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar.

Nag alleged that Sindhuri was taking credit for the COVID Care Centres opened in the city and was constantly complaining to senior officials that no work was being done in the Corporation limits to manage COVID-19 spread.

Sindhuri counter-alleged that Nag was underreporting COVID-19 cases and deaths in the city and had not opened any COVID Care Centres until nudged to do so.

She added that the Municipal Commissioner had also stopped attending COVID-19 review meetings.

It was reported that a recent map showing most of Mysuru city as Red Zone for COVID-19 as being the immediate reason for Nag’s resignation.
