‘Oxygen challenge’: ABVP workers plant 50,900 saplings on World Environment Day

Mangaluru: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) workers planted 50,900 saplings in 31 districts of Karnataka.
Under the oxygen challenge campaign, around 40,000 ABVP workers planted 50,900 saplings in 972 places.
It is said that under the campaign, one person had to plant 5 saplings for 5 days and look after them for a year.
People from all over the state including IAS officers, Police officials, Celebrities and others took part in the challenge.
Manikanta Kalasa, State joint secretary of ABVP said, ” We have an aim of planting 5 lakh saplings in the coming five days. I request all to participate in the Oxygen Challenge campaign.”
