UP: The Uttar Pradesh government will unveil its new policy on population control for 2021-30 on the occasion of World Population Day 2021 on Sunday.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today said increasing population is the root of major problems and population control is the primary condition for the establishment of an advanced society.

The draft bill aimed at population control proposes that people with over two children would be barred from applying for government jobs.

They also won’t get government schemes’ benefits and can’t contest local body elections. Meanwhile, those with two children or less will get special incentives, like two additional increments during their service.

The government will also provide a system for safe abortion and efforts will be made to stabilize population by providing solutions for impotence and infertility, and reducing infant and maternal mortality rate through improved health facilities.

It will make comprehensive arrangements for the care of the elderly, apart from better management of education, health, and nutrition of adolescents between 11 and 19 years.

Health clubs will be set up in schools and digital tracking will be done for newborns, adolescents and elderly people.
