Bengaluru: A gang of robbers stopped a truck loaded with cellphones moving towards Bengaluru from Tamilnadu and looted devices worth Rs 6 crore at Bengaluru-Chittoor highway.

The incident took place on Devarayasamudra near Mulbagal, 90 km away from Bengaluru.

It is said that the car-borne gang accused the truck driver, Suresh of ramming their vehicle, asked him to get out of the vehicle, tied him to a tree, and escaped with cellphones.

Suresh claimed that the gang members transferred the consignment to another truck near Nernahalli and fled.

After some time, the driver untied himself and reached the nearby police station. A case has been registered and the investigation is underway.
