Mangaluru: Notorious gang from UP involved in thefts from parked cars?

Mangaluru: Theft from parked cars is on a rise in the city, several cases have been reported regarding miscreants breaking the windowpane of parked cars and stealing the valuables.

On Friday, August 7, Thieves broke a parked car windowpane and stole a laptop, iPhone, and cheque leaves of various banks near the MUDA (Mangalore Urban Development Authority) office at Urwa Store.

On the same day, another car’s window glass was broken and  Rs 40,000 cash and a bag containing documents were stolen at Light House Hill Road.

Now, Police officials suspect that a gang of Uttar Pradesh is involved in thefts from parked cars in the city. In the past, several members of this gang have been arrested in other parts of Karnataka.

Further investigation is underway.
