Bengaluru: Woman plans to sell kidney, duped of Rs 7.97 lakh

Bengaluru: A 36-year-old woman who wanted to sell her kidney was conned Rs 7.97 lakh by fraudsters in Bengaluru.
The victim, a resident of Vyalikaval, has filed a complaint with the cybercrime police in connection with the incident.
The victim said that she came across an advertisement about the sale of kidneys on a website in April and called the number.
The woman who introduced herself as Dr Seema Rai promised to pay Rs. 1 crore if the kidney matches with the patient who required it.
She also asked the victim to pay various charges such as registration fee, blood test and RBI guidelines fee etc. Through multiple transactions, the victim transferred a total of Rs. 7.97 lakh to the bank account numbers provided by her.
Central CEN police have registered a case and further investigations are underway.
