Katapady: For this year’s Sri Krishna Janmasthami, Ravi Katpady donned the guise of the monster from the Hollywood movie ‘Dark Light.’

He will be raising money for the medical treatment of 7 sick children.

In the past 7 years, he has collected and donated Rs 72 lakhs for various causes through his disguises during the festival.

This year’s Janmashtami too comes in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Udupi district administration has like last year not allowed any public celebrations.

On Ashtami day, thousands of people used to dress up in various guises but this year that too was not permitted. Ravi Katpady was given special permission.

Ravi will be seen in Udupi, Katpady, Malpe, and Manipal areas for two days in the fantasy costume.

Ravi Katpadi, who works as a centring specialist, dresses up for Sri Krishna Janmashtami every year and helps sick children.

He had also participated in the Amitabh Bachan-hosted ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ television game show and won Rs 8 lakhs which he donated for a charity cause.
