Twist in missing case: Man who claimed to be missing woman’s husband turns out to be live-in partner

Mangaluru: A woman from Ashok Nagar, Mangaluru had gone missing with her two children and a man claiming to be her husband had filed a missing complaint at the Urwa police station.

However, the case has now encountered a curious twist as the missing woman was traced to Gadag, she revealed that the man claiming to be her husband was her live-in partner and her husband is no more.

Renuka Chowwadal (30) who was residing in Ashok Nagar had suddenly gone missing along with her two children. A person named Nagaraj Halappa  filed complaint in Urwa police station stating that his wife and children were not to be found.

Police found Renuka in Gadag who claimed that after her husband’s death, she came close to Nagaraj and the four lived together. The people in the area believed Nagaraj was Renuka’s husband.

However, Renuka left home as Nagaraj started behaving violently and abused her. She claimed that she does not want to live with Nagaraj anymore and that she will find a way to fend for herself.
