Udupi: Lorry driver kidnapped from Malpe; Rs 15 lakh ransom demanded

Udupi: A lorry driver went missing on October 1 after he had been to Malpe for duty. A day later, his younger brother received a call saying that his brother had been kidnapped and demanded Rs 15 lakh in ransom for his release.
The man abducted is identified as Sulaiman and he was involved in the fish business. He used to buy fish from Malpe and sell it in Kerala. He has been allegedly abducted over non-payment of Rs 15 lakh related to his business.
It is said that Sulaiman’s brother, Shamshuddin reportedly got a call from a person named Sameer who said that he along with, Hanas and brothers from Kerala have abducted Sulaiman.
Sameer also warned that if Rs 15 lakh ransom was not paid, Sulaiman will be killed and his body will be dumped into the sea.
A case in this regard has been filed at Malpe police station.
