Bengaluru: Nasally-administered Covid-19 vaccines for children in the state are likely to be available by the month of November or December, revealed Karnataka’s Health Minister Dr. K Sudhakar on October 3.
Sudhakar said that the central government is negotiating the price of the child-friendly ZyCov-D vaccine. If they conclude successfully, the jabs would be available in Karnataka by November or December, he informed the media persons after his meeting with Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday.
The government is discussing administering booster shots for fully vaccinated individuals. The decision would be taken soon, he added.
When asked about the preparations for the third wave of the pandemic, IANS quoted him saying “We have to see how the situation unfolds in the months of November and December. However, we have taken all precautions and stringent restrictions are still in place despite the pressure from neighboring states of Kerala and Maharashtra.”
