Bengaluru: Man arrested for posing as IAS officer, duping people

Bengaluru: Police officials have arrested a man for posing as an IAS officer and duping many people of more than Rs 15 lakh.
The accused has been identified as Sandeep, a native of Mandya residing in Bengaluru. He duped people on the pretext of giving them jobs. Two separate cases have been filed against Sandeep.
In a case filed at Pulikeshinagar police station by K Veena, Sandeep met her at Tirupati and assured her of a job. He allegedly cheated her of Rs 6 lakh on the pretext of getting her a job at a government office for a salary of Rs 75,000.
Sandeep had had also lured Veena’s friend and a case has been filed against Veena at the Vidhana Soudha police station for collecting Rs 6 lakh from her friend claiming that she knew an ‘IAS officer’ who can get jobs at government offices.
Further investigations are underway.
