Mangaluru: Water supply to the city that was stopped due to a leak in a huge underground pipe will be resumed from today, said Mangaluru City Corporation on November 5.

Announcing the news on twitter, the official handle of MCC said “With a team of skilled workers, the leakage has been attended and the pipe has been restored.”

“The pumping has started in Thumbe around 12 am last night and the water supply should be back to normal today,” the tweet read.

On November 3, the city corporation told its residents that leakage had been detected in the main supply pipe near Adyar Katte. The Thumbe pumping station had to be shut down for the repair work.

“Pipeline supplying water from Thumbe to Mangaluru city has been damaged near Adyar Katte.” it said in a tweet.
