DK District administration felicitates Padma Shri awardee Harekala Hajabba

 Mangaluru: Padma Shree awardee Harekala Hajabba was given a warm welcome on his arrival in Mangaluru on November 9 after receiving the award from President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on November 8.

Deputy Commissioner K V Rajendra felicitated Hajabba at the deputy commissioner’s office on Tuesday.

Hajabba thanked the media for sharing the story and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and others for supporting him.

“I am happy that a poor man like me has been honored by the Prime Minister and President. I thank our MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, minister Kota Shrinivas Poojari, and MLA of our constituency U T Khader,” he said.

DC Rajendra said that Hajabba has reiterated his demand of starting a PU college and a proposal will be sent to the government soon.
