B’luru: Rowdy sheeter assaults cop with dagger to evade arrest, gets shot on the leg

Bengaluru: A notorious rowdy-sheeter was shot at on his leg and arrested by the CCB police after he allegedly attacked a policeman with a dagger when they went to arrest him in connection with a murder case.

The incident took place inside a cemetery within the limits of Ashokanagar police station at around 11 pm.

A team of clime branch sleuths had gone to arrest the rowdy, Kerchief Palani, an accused in a murder case registered at the Bellandur police station.

As Palani tried to resist the arrest, CCB ACP Parmesh fired in the air as a warning. However, Palani retaliated by attacking inspector Harish Kumar with a dagger and injured him.

Following this, the ACP shot him on his leg to bring the situation under control. He was arrested and taken to Bowring hospital for treatment.
