Kunigal Tragedy: Bodies of four washed away recovered after 3-day search operations

Kunigal: Search and rescue operations at the Markonahalli reservoir ended on Tuesday with the recovery of the bodies of all four persons, who washed away at the Markonahalli reservoir in the taluk on Sunday. The search operations lasted for three days.
In a tragic turn of events, four persons — Sadika Banu and Parveen Taj from the Kote area of Kunigal town and Yediyur based bothers Appu and Raju — had washed away at the two ends of the reservoir on Sunday.
Personnel from the fire department, NDRF, and SDRF were involved in the search operations. The mortal remains of Sadika Banu and Appu were found on Monday. The search continued to locate the other two.
Today the rescue teams found the bodies of Parveen Taj and Raju were found 3 km away from the accident spot.
The mortal remains were handed over to the family after an autopsy, reports said.
