Belagavi: 41 travelers from Maharashtra sent back for failing to produce negative RTPCR at checkpost

Belagavi: As many as 41 travelers from Maharashtra, who did not have negative RTPCR reports, were sent back from the Koganolli check post on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border here on Tuesday morning.
The passengers were traveling on two private buses that were en route to Bengaluru from Mumbai.
Out of the 28 passengers on board the bus belonging to Sharma Travels, 24 did not have an RTPCR report. Similarly, another 17 passengers traveling on a bus run by National Travels also failed to produce the report. They were all sent back from the border checkpoint, sources said.
A complaint has been registered againt the erring bus operations — Aslamulla Khan, Nemuthullah Khan, Tipu Sulan, — and another the bus manager under the provisions of the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act, CPI Sangamesh Shivogi said.
