M’luru: Coal laden lorry topples near Padil

Mangaluru: A tipper lorry carrying coal toppled near Padil in the early hours of February 9.

Fire services were rushed to the spot and rescued the driver. They also took steps to avoid any accidental coal fire.

It is gathered that the lorry was on its way to Bellary after loading coal from Mangalore Port. The accident occurred on a turn on the inclined road that joins the Padil National Highway-75 intersection.

The overturned truck blocked traffic on the road for a while. The coal is being removed at the time of publication of this news.
