Vitla: Driver hospitalised after towing truck crashes into roadside shops

Vitla: A towing truck rammed into roadside shops before coming to a halt after crashing into a hotel at Kodaja junction on the Mysuru-Mani highway in the wee hours of Friday.

The accident took place after the driver of the truck, headed towards Mangaluru from Puttur lost control of the vehicle and ploughed into a bakery, Nandini Milk stall, and a mobile store near Kodaja junction. The truck finally came to a halt after crashing into a hotel here.

The driver sustained serious injuries in the mishap and has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.

Fortunately, there wasn’t much crowd at the junction as the incident took place at around 1 am on Friday. The shops however were damaged in the incident.
