Vijayapura: former Union Minister and BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Saturday lashed out at media outlets and said his statements had been twisted and taken out of context.
He was referring to the Rs 2500 crore demand for Chief MInister’s post allegedly made at a function at Ramdurg in Belagavi District. “Some people had come from Delhi and said that they would make me the Chief Minister if I arranged Rs 2,500 crore. Do they know how much is Rs 2,500 crore and where to keep it, in a room or a godown,” former Union Minister and BJP MLA Yatnal had said on Thursday.
“Some media outlets have twisted my statements at a function at Ramdurg in Belagavi in their reports,” he said. “Did I say that the BJP high command asked for money?” he asked.
Yatnal lashed out at journalists for seeking a response about the alleged remarks and said those who twisted his statement should not take my interview.
The BJP never allows such indiscipline within the party. There is no room for corruption until leaders like PM Narendra Modi are at the helm, he said.
Basavaraj Bommai has been made the Chief Minister in a transparent manner by the party’s central high command, he added.
